Creating Concealment

I did some testing the other night with a 500 lumen light and a 1900 lumen light. It is obvious the 1900 lumen light is brighter, but what may not be so obvious, is the 500 lumen light provides just as much concealment for the user as the 1900 lumen light.

Lights are used mainly to gather information about your environment in low light conditions says John Farnam.

A handheld light can also be used effectively for concealment of the user when the user is not backlit. For example, concealing a firing grip on your pistol in your holster.

Conclusion, a 500 lumen light is sufficient for the purpose of concealment in low light situations.
